Triops who?

These things aren't your parent's Sea Monkeys that's for sure! I stumbled upon these little uglies in the check out lane at Hobby Lobby and I thought they might be a fun little science project for Genevieve and I to partake in at home. I figured they were going to be like the old school sea monkeys we used to nurture and watch grow when we were kids...Oh was I ever wrong!
Upon reading the instructions I found out that they could potentially grow to 3 inches in size and 70 DAYS! "I can't even keep gold fish alive for more than 2 weeks", so I wasn't worried about the commitment.

Take a look for yourself! Out of the many eggs we started with only three hatched. Surprisingly they are thriving and currently they are about an about 1.5 inches in length. Genevieve calls them tadpoles and really doesn't take much interest in them at all "SURPRISE"! As you might guess I am the only one who takes care of them, HO-HUM! I have to admit that they are interesting little creatures however the census in the Holland House from the other adults is that they are kinda DISGUSTING...... You be the judge!
